Focolare Centre for Unity

The Focolare Centre for Unity has two important roles: acting as a home for the Focolare Movement in Great Britain and serving as a significant point of convergence for the Churches and the ecumenical movement and also for inter-religious dialogue.
Since reopening in October 2007 the centre has been fully utilised with over 6000 visitors.
The building is being transformed to reflect better the ideal of unity and communion of the Focolare Movement. Parts of the original building and facilities are in need of considerable upgrading and renewal. Through donations, legacies and funds raised by friends all over Great Britain, the first phase of the works was completed in October 2007. The reception area was relocated, the chapel enlarged, bedrooms modernised, meeting rooms refurbished and a lift installed.
The second phase, due to start in April 2009, will include a multi-functional meeting hall, administration offices and seminar room, replacing the old dining room and kitchen. The third phase will modernise the first floor bedrooms and convert the loft space above.
